Karin Ghysen is a management consultant with 25 years of business and sales experience.
Karin studied Germanic Philology and Information Technology at the University of Louvain, graduating in 1981. After two years of academic career, she joined IBM Belgium as Press and Communications Officer,to move to Sales Account Manager in the Health Insurance Sector.
In Chicago, Illinois, she managed IBM’s account team for the headquarters of America’s largest health care company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
In 1993 she decided to set up her own company in Belgium, introducing personalized books in the country. She developed a national network of sub-licensees and achieved high volumes by offering the product as corporate incentive. Over a 100.000 personalized books have been printed since.
Since 2001 she combines her business activity with management training. As a Certified Dale Carnegie trainer Karin works mainly in Europe and Africa, delivering programmes in the area of Communications and Human Relations, People Skills for Managers, Presentation Skills and Sales Advantage.
Essential to all the trainings are the high energy, participatory approach, emphasizing skill over knowledge, practice over theory. Post training coaching ensures implementation of new skills and behaviours. Recent clients include Pecten (Shell Cameroon), Air Products Benelux, Solutia, Celtel Sierra Leone, HP, ING, Technip, Mobistar, Accenture, Sabic and Telindus.
